Tina Reyes was elected to the Houston Independent School District Board of Trustees in 1981, 1983, and 1985. In 1984 she served as President of the Board. The bulk of the materials in the collection centers around her tenure as President of the Board. Materials in box 1 relate mostly to the District's legal activities from 1982 through 1984; box 2 contains meeting minutes and agendas of the Board and social studies curriculum guides. The collection also contains 2 books: Education, by Ellen G. White; and, Origin and development of Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas, by William E. Terry.
